Program Award Gold Medal 2009-2012 Previously Bluefish has been a Silver Medal Club since 2006!

Gold Medal Club Excellence

USA Swimming has released the final rankings of their 2009 Club Excellence Program and Bluefish is one of only sixteen recipients of USA Swimming’s Gold Medal for Club Excellence. This ranking allows the Bluefish to apply for a grant up to $12,000 in funding from USA Swimming. This achievement was made possible through the Long Course performances of Bluefish swimmers as well as our attendance at USA Swimming national competitions. More information is available from the USA Swimming website. Congratulations to the entire Bluefish Swim Club organization - swimmers, coaches, and parents!!

Founded in 1970, Masters Swimming is part of United States Swimming, the governing body for swimming in the United States. Swimmers age 19 and older are welcome to join and participate at whatever level they choose in this "lifetime sport." Masters range in ability from those just learning to swim to former collegiate and Olympic swimmers.

There is a full schedule of local, national, and international swimming events for swimmers interested in competing. Some Masters choose not to compete, but join to enjoy the benefits of coached workouts, exercise of swimming and to meet other active adults.

Each practice will focus on a variety of aspects of competitive swimming. The primary objective will be to improve each swimmer stroke efficiency while increasing their speed and aerobic capacity. Swimmers stroke efficiency will improve through stroke analysis, technique corrections and mastering of stroke corrective drills. Endurance training will increase swimmers aerobic capacity. Speed will improve as swimmers become more efficient in the water and their endurance increases.

Specialized tri-athlete training is available. Tailored workouts towards the specific race that the tri-athlete is preparing for
